The San Diego Convention Center

We're excited to be returning to the San Diego Convention Center for the 72nd URJ Biennial Convention in December 2013. Located on sparkling San Diego Bay in the heart of a vibrant downtown, the Convention Center is just a short stroll from an exciting array of sidewalk cafes, specialty shops, and clubs in the historic Gaslamp Quarter, gorgeous waterfront parks, some of the finest restaurants in Southern California, the USS Midway and PETCO Park, home of the San Diego Padres.

Get the inside scoop on the best places to go, sights to see, and things to do while you are visiting San Diego in the San Diego Convention Attendee Guide. The San Diego Convention Center also recommends a number of tour options for attendees. Learn more about scheduling a trolley tour or hot air balloon ride, among many other exciting sight-seeing opportunities!

We have reserved blocks of rooms at a number of San Diego hotels that are close to the Convention Center. Once your registration fee has been paid in full, you will be able to reserve a discounted hotel room at one of these convention hotels.

Inclusion, Accessibility, and Mobility

We strive to successfully include all of those who wish to participate in the Biennial convention. If you require accommodations, please share with us your needs so we can support your meaningful participation. Please make a written request to Lisa David at ldavid@urj.org (212.650.4078).

We will follow up, as needed, to discuss your needs prior to the event.

The San Diego Convention Center is exceedingly large, with some distance between certain events. Attendees who wish to rent a mobility scooter should make their own arrangements with one of these companies*:

*The URJ does not endorse any of these companies. This list is provided for your convenience only although we do hope that a mobility scooter, if needed, will enhance your Biennial experience.
