Gaylord National Hotel - our home for the 2011 URJ Biennial - is located in the newly developed National Harbor in the Washington D.C. area. The hotel and convention center cover 41.7 acres and overlooks the monuments and skyline of our nation's capital.
The Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center opened in the spring of 2008 in National Harbor Maryland. It includes a massive 18-story, glass-enclosed atrium, 2000 guest rooms including 108 lavish suites and 300 VIP Tower rooms, four ballrooms, 82 meeting rooms, several shops, markets and restaurants, the Relâche Spa and Fitness Center, and an exhibit hall that is the size of three football fields and has enough space to accommodate up to 400 full-size, tractor-trailer trucks.

We have reserved a large block of rooms at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. Once your registration fee has been paid in full, you will be able to reserve a hotel room at the following discounted rates.
Single Occupancy: $199/night*
Double Occupancy: $199/night*
*Applicable taxes will be added to room rates (currently 5% sales tax and 10% occupancy tax.) There is also a $10/day resort fee per day added to the guest room rate which will cover several in-room and resort amenities.
Getting To Biennial - Air Travel
If you are flying to the Washington, DC area, the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) are the three airports most convenient for Biennial attendees.
The Union has arranged for discounts on Continental Airlines flights for Biennial attendees.

You may also choose to check rates on other airlines using an online travel search engine such as Kayak.com to make sure that you are booking the most competitive rate available. Farecast.com is an especially useful tool that provides statistically calculated predictions as to whether prices are likely to rise or fall within the next 7 days and a 30 day history of flight prices from your departure city to your destination.

For those of you driving into Washington, DC, please know that there are public parking lots both at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center and in other lots throughout the National Harbor property. Parking Rates at the Gaylord are as follows*:
$5.00 for first hour
$12.00 for 0-3 hours self parking
$19.00 per day self parking/overnight
$17.00 for 0-3 hours valet parking
$28.00 per day valet parking/overnight
Other parking garages are also available near the Gaylord. Fleet Garage, Mariner Garage, St. George Garage, and the Waterfront Lot are all just a short walk from the Gaylord Property. Rates for these garages are as follows*:

The Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center is a very large place and there will be distances to walk between events.
In order to make this easier for participants who have difficulty walking, the Union has found the following companies who provide mobility scooter rentals.*
