Description
Why should religious schools look like public schools, with age-graded classrooms, textbooks, and report cards? What happens when congregational education is designed differently? In the past two decades a growing number of synagogues have created alternative configurations for K-12 learning, including Shabbat communities (attended by parents as well as children), individualized, family-based options, and day camps. This session presents an overview of these models in action, complete with photos and videos, and explains how your congregation might go about adapting one of them.
